Welcome to Little Forest Equestrian!
This is the perfect place to further your horsemanship, escape to a relaxing get-away, and spend time with horses! Little Forest Equestrian offers our equine services to the public to help spread the love of horses to the greater Austin area. Our goal is to provide opportunities for people to connect with horses and to spend time enjoying God’s creation. We are located on a privately owned ranch on the edge of Leander Texas. Our services include horsemanship classes, equine training, horseback riding lessons, retreats, birthday parties, and day camps.
Meet The Owner
Hi! My name is Jenna Couchman. I am an experienced horse caretaker, rider, trainer, and the owner of Little Forest Equestrian Center. I have over a decade of riding experience in both English and Western saddles. Over the past seven years, I have furthered my knowledge of horsemanship while working as a ranch hand at South Wind Equestrian Center, Miraval Austin, and 6D Ranch. I have a passion for partnering with horses to experience connection and to practice building relationships. I was married in March of 2023 to my husband Seth. We live on property and Seth often helps me feed and care for our horses.

Little Forest Equestrian launched in January 2025!
At Little Forest Equestrian Center, our horses are more than just animals, they are members of our family. We have a variety of well-trained horses suitable for riders of all levels, from beginners to advanced. You can read a little more about each of our horses below!

Koby is a 28 year old Polish Arabian gelding. He was my first horse, given to me in 2018. His name Kobayashi is a Japanese name meaning small forest. Koby is one of the horses that I took riding lessons on when I was a kid! He is super safe for beginner riding lessons, and he loves helping out at birthday parties or participating in our groundwork classes. Koby is the leader of our herd. He is very patient with all the mares and always acts like a gentleman.

Mia is a 12 year old Quarter Horse mare. In 2020, after training with her for several months, I purchased her to be my own. When I first met Mia she was scared of other horses and skeptical about the humans she interacted with. But now! After 5 years of patiently loving this sweet mare, she is curious about humans and loves attention! Her

S'mores is a 15 year old Quarter Horse mare. I bought S'mores in September of 2024. While she is a newer horse to me, she is not new to riding, being around kids, or loving new people! Before coming to join our herd, S'mores was a broodmare. Her last foal was weaned off of her in June of 2024. She may not be having babies anymore, but she

Before coming to join our herd, S'mores was a broodmare. Her last foal was weaned off of her in June of 2024. She may not be having babies anymore, but she is definitely the "mom" of our herd. S'mores is trained to be gentle and safe with toddlers, kids, dogs, and other horses.

Lily is a 5 year old Thoroughbred mare. She joined our herd in October of 2024. Lily has a caring heart and she loves to be in connection with others. She is a great partner for those looking to take English riding lessons. Lily is sensitive to what is being asked of her and she responds with a willing heart. While she did have some track

While she did have some track training, Lily never raced. She spent a couple of years out to pasture with other retired race horses. Then she was put on the market and I was blessed to quickly give her a new permanent home.
